BAMSCP 2017 Welcome Luncheon

Posted By Ram Fletcher, Wednesday, April 19, 2017

On April 19th, the Bay Area Minority Summer Clerkship Program held its annual Student Orientation luncheon for the class of 2017.  The event was hosted by Bernie Greenfield of Greenfield, Draa & Harrington, LLP at his downtown San Jose office.  All 15 participants attended a fantastic event, that included BAMSCP Co-Chairs Ram Fletcher and Jennifer Leung, as well as Bernie Greenfield and former BAMSCP participant, Carlos Barba.  Irene Cortez, the SCCBA Staff Liason also attended and was instrumental in planning the event.  The 1L students selected from various Bay Area law schools had a chance to network, ask questions about the program and hear from Carlos about his experience in 2015 as a BAMSCP summer intern.  Bernie was a gracious and welcoming host who provided great insight into what employers expect of their summer clerks.  We look forward to reconnecting with the 2017 class at our next luncheon in July where we will get feedback about their summer placements.  The Class of 2017 represents another talented group and we look forward to continuing to expand the program as part of our continuing effort to increase minority representation in the legal profession.

Thank You 2016 BAMSCP Employers

Posted By Ram Fletcher, Thursday, March 24, 2016

We want to take this opportunity to formally acknowledge and thank each of the firms and organizations (below) that are participating in the Bay Area Minority Summer Clerkship Program this year.  Once again we have a tremendous group of employers who are "walking the walk," not just "talking that talk," when it comes to increasing diversity in the legal profession.  One of the main reasons BAMSCP continues to be a highly sought after summer clerkship program is our participating employers' genuine commitment to supporting the development of minority law students not just by hiring them, but also by offering mentoring, networking and invaluable practical experience early in their legal careers.  More often than not, our students report they forged meaningful relationships, developed professionally, and also had fun during their placement.  This is a credit to the dedication of our participating employers who continue, year after year, to make it a worthwhile experience.  We look forward to many more years of successful partnership and are deeply grateful for what all of our participating organizations have done to make BAMSCP something we should all be proud of.

Below is a list of our 2016 BAMSCP employers:
