**The Webcast version is available for the first half of the seminar.

This seminar is designed for all levels of practitioners to gain practical and hands-on experience with respect to all aspects of a family law trial.

This seminar will include:

  • preparation of the trial brief
  • direct and cross-examination of expert and lay witnesses
  • impeachment of witnesses
  • moving documents into evidence
part 1 - morning

The first part of the course will focus on the practical aspects of handling evidence in family law trials as well as practical information related to the direct and cross-examination of witnesses.

part 2 - afternoon

The second part of the course will allow the participants to work directly with senior members of the Family Law bar in small groups; practicing direct and cross examinations of lay and expert witnesses as well as laying a foundation and moving documents into evidence.

Participants will receive a fact pattern prior to the course and it is strongly suggested that the fact pattern is reviewed prior to the course so that all are prepared to actively participate in the small group.
