The Law-Related Education Committee and Barristers' cordially invite you to attend the Third Annual Law Day Mixer and the Third Whiskey and War Stories Mixer with the Bench and Bar. Law Day is a national day to celebrate the rule of law and its contributions to the freedoms Americans enjoy. The Whiskey and War Stories has become an bi annual intergenerational “old-school” mixer where established Silicon Valley lawyers share tips, stories and anecdotes. Members of the Bench and Bar are invited to gather on May 4, 2017 to celebrate Law Day in Santa Clara County with good stories and libations.

Law Day had its origin in 1957, when American Bar Association (ABA) President Charles S. Rhyne envisioned a special day for celebrating our legal system. On February 3, 1958, President Dwight D. Eisenhower established Law Day by issuing a Proclamation. Every President since then has issued an annual Law Day Proclamation. Presidential Proclamations are published in the Federal Register. This year’s theme is “The 14th Amendment: Transforming American Democracy”.
