The brown bag will focus on highlighting potential problems and offer practical solutions (including forms) for navigating and avoiding potential conflicts of interest.

Topics will include:

• The common situations where representation of multiple parties in employment cases may arise for both plaintiffs and defendants
• The ethics rules governing conflicts of interest, fee-splitting, cost allocation, joint party privilege, and shared communications
• Whether to use joint or individual fee agreements
• Documenting time and allocating work appropriately
• Conflict waivers and full disclosure rules
• Settlement scenarios and proper disbursement of funds
