Judge Mary Arand graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1979. For most of her legal career before joining the bench, Judge Arand specialized in business-related litigation, including disputes that involved contracts, trade secrets and other intellectual property issues, partnerships and corporations, securities fraud, government regulation of businesses, real property, and employment. Judge Arand was appointed to the Superior Court bench in December 2006. She spent four years on the Family Court, and was Supervising Judge of Family Court for two years. Judge Arand joined the civil division in 2011 and handled civil trials for two years. She currently serves as a civil case manager. Judge Arand is a member of the William A. Ingram Inn of Court, is the Chair of the Superior Court Rules and Internal Policies Committee, and also serves on the Superior Court's Courthouse Construction and Security Committee, the Information and Technology Systems Committee, and the Family Justice Center Working Group.
